Design Manger - Commercial Construction

The role   

A leading commercial construction firm are looking for a Design Manager with experience delivering the design and pre-construction process for vertical construction projects. 

As specialists in the design and build space with a forward workload of key projects across the region and NZ you will bring a level or expertise and experience to a driven and ambitious work environment. 

We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of both architectural and structural design in accordance with construction programming and methodology. In this role you will lead the team during the design development stage through to building consent across a range of developments. 

You will be liaising with architects, engineers, project managers and clients providing expertise on design, project documentation, drawings, programmes and management of the team.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Assist the business with Design and Build tender submissions

· The appointment and management of the design team;

· Lead, manage and challenge the design team

· Working with key stakeholders managing expectations through the entire process.

· Contribute to success of the overall business

What we require:

• Project Management Experience demonstrating Time, Cost and Scope understanding.
• Experience in interpretation and application of design      documentation.
• Demonstrated experience in functional briefs, consultant scopes, engagements and coordinating/formulating design programmes.
• Experience within the ECI (Early Contractor Involvement) and Tender Phase as well as the Construction Phase is highly sought after.
